Do you have the income to relax?

What if we were to focus on building something for the future? When I was young, my grandfather would take us outside and have us lay on the grassy hill to look at the sky. Sometimes to watch the storm roll in, sometimes to just sit quietly and see what beauty would roll, or scurry, by. Today, as an entrepreneur, I appreciate this so much more.

I come from a long line of entrepreneurs. I remember days gone by; the scramble to meet deadlines, turn in bids, and help those in crisis. (Insurance sales with a heart) I quickly learned that my father was on call 24/7 for his business. If he wasn’t out there working to make an income, we didn’t have one. I thought that was the only way to be an entrepreneur: on call 24/7 and no work=no money. My father was so dedicated to our family that he would schedule his time so he could be at every athletic event, every public speaking event and be there to support us, then he would work later in the evening or a bit on the weekend to make up the time. (time for money)

Robert Kiyosaki, in Rich Dad Poor Dad, pointed out a different way to look at entrepreneurship. How I could make my money work for me vs. the alternative of always working for money. We looked at different opportunities; the stock market is volatile, we don’t have the capital of $500,000+ to even glance at a franchise opportunity. The real estate market in Southwest Florida is prime for the picking, but again, requires quite a bit of capital. What is left? Are we out of luck?

I again, turned to Robert Kiyosaki and one of his more recent titles, The Business of the 21st Century, very insightful information. He talks about trends and where many of the very successful names are turning to the same successful business plan. Donald Trump, Warren Buffet, Roger Barnett, and many others are recognizing the same trends.

One of the advantages to a business like mine is the ability to expand. Right now I am particularly interested in talking with people who share my curiosity and interest for getting out of the time for money trade. If you are interested in hearing what Kiyosaki has to say about the options, you can listen to a CD that discusses the philosophy.
